tsantee Posted May 3, 2007 Report Share Posted May 3, 2007 When you insert a blank disc the drive's firmware checks to see what kind of media it is and what burn speeds are supported. Today's media does not support 1X burning. Oftentimes 4X speed is the lowest available for DVD-R or DVD+R discs. The Recorder Settings window will show what burn speeds are available after the disc has been inserted and checked by the drive. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
