DVD Builder Crash

roatman

Question

I have build a slideshow in StoryBoard. When I click on Burn DVD it starts to launch DVD Builder and crashes before it can launch completely. I have turned off all background programs including firewall and anti-virus, I have uninstalled and reinstalled EMC 7, all to no avail.

I had exactly the same problem with Videowave; launching DVD Builder from it would shut everything down. What I do now is save the finished production in VideoWave, then close VideoWave, then open DVD Builder and insert the saved VideoWave file as a new title. Only then do I burn it; I prefer to do it as an ISO file then copy that file to a DVD.

Do you have Internet Explorer 7 and/ or Windows Media Player 9 installed?

Have you been able to burn DVDs in the past or is this your first attempt?

Yes, I have IE 7 and WMP 11. And yes, I have burned DVDs before, and come to think of it they were probably before I installed these two updates. Is that a known problem?

Both of them effectively kill EMC 7, 7.5, and 8. To use the software, you have to uninstall them.

Erm . . . shouldn't that be Windows Media Player 11?

Yes. My fingers and head were obviously not working properly.

Thanks for catching that.

Well that sucks. Thank you for the info, but that really sucks. God I hate Microsoft.

The problems created by IE7 and MP11 with Roxio Easy Media Creator 7,

do these same problems also exist with Easy Media Creator Version 9?
