Multi Session Burning

graham@glnsite.fsnet.co.uk

Question

After burning a short filmshow to a DVD/RW -- around 12 minutes duration -- I tried to burn a second of similar length but the first has to be taken off first.

Is there a way in which new shows can be added as and when completed until the DVD is full ?

I found the website difficult to use -- especially HOW to post a question !!

Thanks for help to someone.

Yes, but

What you want to do in MyDVD is start a new project and select DVD+RV.

A +VR project can be loaded back to MyDVD and edited. Of course media makes a difference. If you are using RW media, no problem. If not, then the previous project is ignored but the space is not recovered so your disc fills up before you know it.

A second problem is that +VR discs suffer from compatibility problems with Players much more than regular DVD projects.

The most common solution is to skip the +VR project and just use RW media. You save your MyDVD Project and when you need to edit, erase the disc and load the Project. Do your edits and re-burn the disc.

Keep in mind that you must save everything connected with the Project too.

A Project file (.dmsd) is merely a list of notes and pointers to the files that makeup the Project and what you want to do with them. If you delete a file or move one, the Project won’t know that.
