coping TIVO files

bghanson

Question

I just purchased EMC9 because I was lead to believe it would be able to copy my tivo file to a DVD so I could view them when I wanted. I tried to use both the Disk Copy and the Compile DVD & Movies functions. I get the same result with both. When I browse to the Tivo folder none of my files show up. I am using version 2.3.a and have recorded and transferred all filed to my computer with this version.

The error message say "TIVO files have been detected. Tivo Desktop 2.3 or higher is required to preview or use these files in a project.” I click OK and they still do not list.

Any Ideas?

You could see if this applies to you.

If not, type Tivo in the Search box, above right, and you should get some hits.

Thanks, but it turns out I've found an easier/better fix, pulled a bit out of context from another posting: uninstall Tivo desktop, then re-install it with EMC 9 already in place. Seems to do the trick - though I can't be completely sure. Now I seem to be having a problem getting my drive to recognize blank media.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

(By the way, before uninstalling TiVo desktop, I backed up my Tivo files - turns out NOT to be necessary - the files were not removed during uninstall. Shouldn't be, but I worried nontheless).

I have the exact same problem - and am in search of a fix. I too get "TiVo Desktop 2.3 or higher is required..." and I have ver 2.4 installed. Have you gotten anywhere?
