It has become quite regular.. Anybody, help please Thanks I notice your specs: Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2 AMD Athlon™ XP 2000+ 1-67 GHz 512 MB of RAM Hard Drive 40GB Ext Hard Drive 120GB ACPI Uniprocessor PC NVIDIA GeForce4Mx420 Altho you didn't say WHICH applications are freezing, I suspect it is more likely something like Photoshop vs Video burning, than Word vs Excel. 512MB of RAM is NOT enough if you want to do Video work. And the Athlon is not of a speed that's going to let you do major things concurrently. So, while I don't argue with Daithi, have you tried turning off unnecessary programs (screen-saver, on-line connection, AV, Firewall [well, you're supposed to be OFF-line]), done a defrag before turning on the big program and then reboot? I generally do one thing at a time - a holdover from when I still used the Beloved (400MHz, 256MB), and the only crashes I had were when Word tried to get online by itself - solved by telling Norton to block its access. Make sure that you are running in the software render mode. Select software by going to Video Wave top menu. Select tools>options> put the dot near software if it now near hardware. You'll lose some transitions but it should not freeze. Also update DirectX 9c from the Microsoft page.
