Customising a DVD menu

Noel Smyth

Question

I need to find out how to customise the background of a DVD menu.

The computer that I was formerly working on already had the menu set up (It had a black background with a company logo on the side and the buttons were red when highlighted), however I have recently upgraded to a new computer and had to re-install everything. Now I am running a Dual-Core Intel Xeon Mac Pro with Mac OS X v 10.4.9

Because I've re-installed Toast 6.1.1, the menu has reverted back to the automatic menu (blue background with yellow buttons).

I know it can be done somehow, but everywhere I've looked hasn't said anything about customising DVD's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Noel

It has to be done with Photoshop. Somewhere in the Toast package is the menu file. You should duplicate it and then experiment with editing the layers in Photoshop.

Toast 8 lets you change the background by dropping a new JPEG on it in the Toast window. How much time saving do you need to justify the price of an upgrade?
