MyDVD 6 Internal software error

Real

Question

While saving a VCD Project using MyDVD6. After many actions such as saving project saving menu saving slide shows Trans.. Audio etc. Before it completes I get the following error

Internal software error:.\Plans\AULists\VideoAUList.cpp, line 491 -2

Can anyone provide assistance or explain what is happening?

The slideshow contains 303 images and there are 4 songs being played. Approximately 25 minutes and 280 MB free for a 650 MB setting.

Thank in advance.

PS I started with MYDVD 4 and upgraded to MYDVD 6. I have made DVD and made VCD's in the past.

Hello it is Sun May 13th, I am hoping someone has an answer. Thanks again

Hi, I had the same issue, I was getting an "internal software error: .\Plans\AULists\VideoAUList.cpp, line 491 -2" error.

This may sound too simple; but try reducing the number of pictures and length of music. I had gone so far as to uninstall WMP 11 and "roll back" to WMP 10, WITHOUT SUCCESS. This was EXTREMELY frustrating, because I liked WMP 11!

I initially tried to put nearly 500 pictures and 45 minutes of music on my VCD. Even though the VCD showed about 1/8th free space remaining, I think the large number of pictures and length of music was simply too much for MyDVD 6 to "handle." The problem seemed to revolve around the "transcoding audio" portion.

Well, after lowering the number of pictures to around 150 and decreasing the music length to about 15 minutes, I had success...it worked just fine!

Give it a try. Might work, WITHOUT having to uninstall WMP 11 (assuming you have it). Good luck!

PS Since mine is now working because I made the VCD smaller, I may try reinstalling WMP 11 just to see if it still works. Maybe we're just trying to cram too much on the VCD, and MyDVD 6 can't live with it? :glare:

:)

Thank you for the reply. I started doing just that. The earlier version of MyDVD had a 99 picture limit; but MyDVD 6 was supposed to exceed that. I will let you know how I make out.

Takes a lot of time to redo these things without success.

As a side note, I also discovered that if I used certain Photo software; that the side show preview would show upside down. It burned properly, but previewed upsode down. I uninstalled the Comcast Photo software, and it worked fine.

Thanks again

You're welcome.

I went back into the VCD I created; I wanted to be sure of the number of files. There are 148 images (JPGs, anywhere from 76 to 1,568 KB each...so apparently individual file size isn't a factor) and 6 audio files (MPEGs totalling 23 min 26 sec, and anywhere from 3,624 to 9,820 KB each...so apparently that isn't a factor either).

The finished VCD has 7 folders: CDI, EXT, MPEGAV, OpenDVD, SEGMENT, SlideShow, and VCD. CDI contains no files. EXT contains two .VCD files. MPEGAV contains one .DAT file. OpenDVD contains a Sources folder (the MPEGs are in here), a ClickMe.htm, and a DC.dvd file. SEGMENT contains two .DAT files. SlideShow contains a folder, Untitled Slideshow, which contains the JPEGs. And VCD contains 4 VCD files. Everything looks completely "normal."

So, after successfully creating the VCD with WMP 10 installed, I re-installed WMP 11...tried to create the same VCD again...and succeeded! So, I'm not sure the version of WMP really has anything to do with this or not.

I'm going to leave WMP 11 on my computer and stick with creating VCDs using fewer pictures. Apparently, including "fewer pictures" is the key to success; re-installing WMP 11 had no negative effect that I could see. Good luck~
