No problem.Wish we could have figured it out.If the English one worked then it must be something to do with the other cd.Are they actually made in China or just Chinese language?May sound like a dumb question but maybe there's something different in the Cd itself.

Some of my chinese CDs were made in China while some are not but EMC 8 did manage to find their track names on the net and they were in chinese characters.

Do you know of any settings that I should change to made these CDs readable?

Thanks!

If you go into Tools -> Disc & Drive Utility (or some paraphrasing of that), and look at the properties of the disc, does it indicate that it is an Audio CD? Does this disc play in all "regular" CD players? As was suggested, it sounds like there's something "different" about this disc.

They do play on regular cd players and I have converted them before with version 5 as well as in iTunes. Strange that they can't be converted on version 8 :)

Okay, once again go into Disc and Device Utility. It will show you the audio tracks. Select them, then right-click on them, and select, "Read Tracks". Select someplace on your HD to put them. Does it extract them as .WAV files? If so, you can then convert those files to .MP3 files using Sound Editor.

Let us know what happens.

Ummm... what version of Easy Media Creator do you have? 7? 7.5? 8? You've posted under 8, but I'm guessing now that maybe you have an earlier version?

Anyway, Direct CD should definitely not work on those discs. Yes, you'll need to use something like Creator Classic. But let's get the question of what version of EMC you're using answered first!

Hi..am quite positive that I am using version 8. Just bought it 2 weeks ago :)

The "Roxio Creator Classic" pops up in the Task List menu when I insert the audio cd.

However I cant locate this function when I open up the full version of Roxio.

You should be able to use that app.For review:Go to Home,Audio,Convert Cd.On the bottom right hit Options.Go to Audio-Conversion and set the format and quality.Make sure you select the correct drive for the source and select a destination you want the files to go to.It should work.If it doesn't,what is the error message you get?

Thanks for replying. I have checked the right formats under options but still get error messages.

The error messages are :

"Unable to read file in designated drive" or

"Unable to copy files to specified location. Please select other locations"

These 2 messages can appeared for the same audio CD.

When I get the latter one, I did try to change the location but still get same error messages.

Meanwhile, will get the exact error messages and post them later this evening.

Thanks once again.

Okay... sorry, I'm just used to bypassing the "Home" application. Do you see anything like below when you click "Start -> Programs -> Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 -> Tools"....? If so, try the "Disc and Device Utility".

Hi, there is no "disc & utility" function under "tools" but the closest is "disk information" and I can't do a right click on the tracks to save on HD.

Hello, I think I crack it. I can't use the direct CD convert for those Chinese CDs but only Roxio Creator Classic to convert the tracks to MP3 and saved on HD. Think thats the only way. Thanks all for helping! :)

The exact error msg I got was :

Creator 8 suite home cannot save tracks at your selected location. Please select another location.

Strange. My chinese CDs were original also.

Thanks for helping!
