I have an ASUS A7N8X-X motherboard with 2gb memory and an AMD 2800+ processor,with an ATI AGP 9550 Video Card w/256K. Standard 3Com ethernet card. I have been using EMC9 for a while now but I keep having repeated problems encoding a DVD. Encoding gets to about 3% and just hangs....I can close EMC but nothing I do will enable encoding to complete. So far I have succeeded only once....after I upgraded the video card to the ATI from a GeForce card!!!!! I use a Canon DC100 Camcorder that records to mini DVD's I then pull the files off of it and make my production. The production previews perfectly but I cannot encode and burn...I can burn from anything but MyDVD.... I have read and reread the posts on this matter. Uninstallled the drivers I reinstalled, made sure I have the newest directx and drivers, gone to myDvd from the menu and the desktop icon. Absolutely no help......can you suggest anything else? Is there a video card that is a better choice without breaking the bank since I do mostly text based chores on my PC ?
Update over the weekend I was able to burn a 35 picture slideshow via MyDVD but still no help with the video. I have several short segments the longest being 15 minutes and nove of them will burn.
Is it possible something in the latest windows updates has interferred with my ability to burn and if so what??? Any clues would be greatly appreciated.
