How do I install Content with EMC 9 Dlx Suite?

Oldcrow

Question

I went to add/remove programs, highlighted Roxio 9, selected change, moved on to the box of choices. Nothing says Content; however, SoundSoap is listed. I clicked intsall on hard drive and then next. I get a list of .gif, .bit, .jpeg, etc, etc. Don't know where that comes into installing Content. If I continue on selecting next...obviously nothing is installed. So what do you need from me so you can help me install this thing? I'm using Windows XP Pro.

Content is a separate file, isn't it? In Windows Explorer, double click the Content file to install and follow any direction afterwards.

You know, one would think that the Content CD would install itself automatically to EMC 9 DLX Suite but it doesn't. It is supposed to become part of EMC 9 so you can have access to all the additional features the content cd holds. Oh, I can download it by using Add programs. That is not a problem but once it is downloaded, it does nothing for you. According to the instructions given, I am to find EMC 8 in my computer (never had it, so it is not there), using add/remove program, highlight the program and select change. Once that is done, all I have to do is scrol down until I find the Content box, doesn't exist, slect it and click next everytime it comes up untill Content is downloaded to EMC 9 DLX suite...This cannot be done. So I am stuck with a content disk I can not use until someone can tell me how to download it properly and incorporate it into EMC 9 Dlx Suite. I've posted this in the general section and also officially with the Roxio Technical help people. I even got a tracking number but that is it. I haven't gotten to the point of everyone else who are complaining about all sorts of problems. Looks like I'm in for a long uphill strugle. May have to look for something else to use. I'm open for any and all suggestions

The content disc or download (separate file) should install just like the program. In other words, once the program is installed, you should just put in the other disc or click on the other download and it should install. If the instructions are saying V8 o are giving you a complex installation procedure, they are wrong.

It is not truly fully integrated so that you can remove or add the content without doing anything with the program. What size is the content download that you have? Maybe that is corrupt. Can you find the installer program in that content folder?

That list of image formats is related to Photosuite so that is not part of the content. By checking the boxes, you are making Photosuite the default for opening those file types.

Did you download the two separate files? You mentioned you have a disc. Which is it?

Install Program. Reboot. Install Content. It doesn't get any more simple than that, unless you don't have both files, if you downloaded the software.

If you have the Retail version, go through the same steps listed above.
