EMC 9 Audio Capture

bearlight

Question

I was able to use the Audio Capture feature on a PC whose OS is Windows XP even though most other EMC 9 features did NOT work - especially the video options.

In any case, the EMC 9 Audio Capture feature recorded streaming audio nicely until yesterday when, all of sudden, it commenced stalling about 1 minute and 10 seconds into the recording. It freezes the incoming stream so that it repeats itself over and over like a deffective record. It will continue doing this until I stop recording. As soon as I press the stop recording button, the streaming audio goes back to playing. I don't understand it at all.

I removed, then reinstalled, the entire application, but that didn't help.

HAS ANYONE ENOUNTERED THIS SITUATION, OR HAS ANY IDEA OF HOW IT CAN BE CORRECTED? I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.

P.S.

I downloaded the trial version of the Total Recorder program that someone else mentioned, but the playback quality (WAV) is terrible.

Give us more information on your computer. Get that information from Belarc Advisor or from your sales receipt. Include information on your video and sound devices (cards or chips). If you put that information in your signature (My Controls at the top of this page and then edit signature) it will be on all your posts and people won't ask again. Are you running XP service pack 2?

Roll back IE 7 to IE 6 and WMP 11 to WMP 9 or earlier. Both have caused problems with some computers.

Have you added anything else to your computer lately? Have to checked for malware? What anti-virus do you have. When was the last time you defragged your hard drive. How much free space do you have on it?

It really sound like you have more problems on your computer than just this. Run "dxdiag" from the Windows Start Run menu. Check both your video and sound performance. Come back and tell us what you find.
