How To make professional style DVD menus

ivory_kitten

Question

I'm beginning to wonder if this software was a mistake...

On my DVD menu I want a PLAY button not a thumbnail image or text (text would work ok if only it would stop skewing my font and making it look weird!). Why does it skew my text?

Can I have a PLAY button (similar to the next buttons) instead of thumbnails or text?

Can I make my own button styles or do you have to pay for more styles which probably won't suit my purpose?

The program was designed to suit most people needs where they would have more than one movie on a disc.

If you just want the DVD to play when you put the disc in a player, just select DVD, no menu when you start a new My DVD project. No need for a button at all. Another benefit of that is that the video will loop without stopping.

You can also change the button to any of the buttons you wish including any image or thumbnail. In MyDVD, once you add the video that you want, select it and go to settings. You will get a menu similar to this where you can play around with the available buttons.

I'm not sure what you mean by "skewing my text". What does it look like. Have you tried another font? What video card do you have?

No, there are no buttons you have to buy as add-ons. In that way, this program is differeent from other vendors. If you want more choices for pre designed menus in MyDVD, you could add packs or upgrade to the Deluxe Suite to get those other menus. No need to because you can just make your own custom menu backgrounds. See the Tips and Tricks area in V9 for a process and video for doing that.

I bet you didn't know that you bought more functionality than you thought. :)
