Just downloaded Toast 8 Titanium to iMac G5. After I have gone through the setup process, and registering my software, I try to open Toast without success. The opening window hangs for just a second and then disappears. I have gone through this forum to search for solutions.
1. Made sure Helvetica is installed in the system/library/fonts folder
2. Upgraded Toast to 8.0.1
3. Upgraded Mac OSX from 10.4.6 to 10.4.9
4. Restarted mulitple times
5. Dumped preference files
All the other applications in the Toast folder open, and work, just fine. The reason I purchased toast in the first place was to be able to save Tivo shows to my computer, and edit/burn DVDs. I have succesfully transfered files using Tivo Transfer to my external firewire hard drive. The one solution I haven't used is to disconnect my peripherals, since this seems counterproductive. I keep all my video files on an external drive to keep my main hard drive clear. Besides, why would firewire drives interfer with Toast?
This seems to be an ongoing issue throughout the forum, but as of yet there is no clear solution.

OK, I just tried turning off my firewire drive, and Toast actually opened and stayed opened. This, however, doesn't seem like a workable solution since my video projects are all located on the external drive.
