Question

I have been using MyDVD 4.5 for years. It does everything I want it to and have never had a problem. Now it has started spitting this at me for no good reason and I really don't know where to start looking for the answer because the decoder must have been installed before - and I haven't taken it away! Can anyone shed any light on this - in plain English - please!? The full Error text is

Could not complete the last command because: Could not make a thumbnail. Make sure you have the appropriate decoder installed. (DVDErr, -47010)

Thanks.

Hey all,

I contacted a service tech and was given instructions for completely removing mydvd and all other sonic applications from my pc, registry and all, then reintalling it. I was told that this should resolve the problem. Well after spending ALOT of time doing this TWICE, guess what - IT DID NOT WORK. Same problem.

I was about to just give up on mydvd and buy another burning program, but decided to do some more searching on the internet and in the forums. Long story short, I downloaded "XP Codec Pack 2.0.8". It seems to be working, at least for now. Hope this helps!

I am having a similar problem, I believe it has something to do with upgrading DivX, some how it replaces the decoder. As I am unable to add avi files since i upgraded my divx player and codec.

There is another thread in the forum on how to fix this problem for easy media creator 9, (http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=8841 )but I am not sure how this translates to sonic MyDVD, since there isn't a DivX folder in the c:\programs\common files/sonic shared. Maybe there was at one time but was deleted when I updated divx.

This is very frustrating! Any help would be appreciated.

I have rolled back my WMP and I am still suffering from this problem. Could the video codec be affecting this? I seem to have the problem whether it is in DivX or any non-standard codec (although, divx is becoming quite standard and pretty typical). I have tried it with various avi's and seem to come up with the same end result - no burn because of -47010. Any further information on this problem would be greatly appreciated
