my drive is gone

:angry2: i bought my lap top which runs vista and it came with all this roxio stuff on it well i upgraded everything i have dvd/cd rom which before i got this burned everything but i also have roxio easy media center and my dvd studio 9 i think thats how you put it any way this drag to disc no says no recorder i have no drive or no recorder now what will happend if i uninstall this will i get my drives back i have done everything i know to i am so close to paying the 35 dollars for some help that is what they charge for tech help with roxio oh and what file do i look for when i get ready to uninstall this thing i have had about enough of this i even called hp to get some help they were no help thank you so much for any help

If you have the HP modified version, you will have to go through HP tech support - it is modified by them and no-one here really knows too much about it.

 

If it's the full suite, then you can contact Roxio tech support - they will ask for credit card details, but if it's an install problem they won't bill you for it

Firstly, check and see if the drive is detected by Vista using the Computer Management / Disk Management utility. I've had Vista loose my drive 2X and both times it was actually detected and functioning but for some reason Vista simply didn't assign a drive letter to the drive. Right click the drive and change/assign it a drive letter. Worked both times for me.

 

Secondly, the OEM absolutely will not provide any support beyond un/re-installation of the application. Beyond that it's what we call the Y.O.Y.O principal. You're On Your Own !
