Videowave, Missing Sound Editor, Trying Trimmer

Brand new Creator user - version 8, using VideoWave. Documentation says to edit audio, use Sound Editor, but after research on this site have found out that this is NO LONGER in the product. (I am new, so no old version to go back to). Apparantly we now have something called Audio Trimmer. Fine. I want to trim. I can trim from the end of the song (right side of clip), no problem. I can't grab the beginning - left side of clip to trim from beginning. How do I cut out the the audio I don't want, starting the beginning?? I simply cannot get the cursor to turn into a double head arrow like it does on the right side of the clip.

Yep - I did find sound editor. It is really more than I need. In VideoWave I just want to trim my audio clip at the beginning. To trim from the end I hold the mouse over the right edge of the audio, I see a double head arrow, I click and grab and move the right edge in, it trims the end off my clip. I want to do the same functionality from the left edge of the audio... Mine doesn't work... is it me? Is it a bug?? Is it a feature???

Try this. If you only want to trim the beginning and end of a sound file, put it on the audio track in timeline and double click it. Does audio trimmer open? This is not the full audio editor but for what you want it will do.

 

If it doesn't open, add a short video file to the production (you can remove it later) and try again. For some reason, it did not work for me the first couple of times I tried it but it does now. I'm not sure if adding the video somehow makes a conncetion to the trimmer or what.
