I just purchased MP yesterday and experiencing same buggy program as described. Program works fine with .mp3, but crashes when .m4a files are used. I'm conversant with visual file extensions, but new to the audio files, so didn't completely understand work around suggested below. Can anyone give me explicit directions on how to convert .m4a files for use? Thank you!

I have noticed that it sometimes has problems with m4a files from iTuens. If you drag the tracks in to Toast, and export them again as m4a files, Motion Pictures seems to work better with those files then the originals.
