EMC 8 wants to load inappropriately

proettch

Question

Using EMC8 on XP Pro machine, lots of memory.

On many non related occasions EMC8 want to load on its own and I'm forced to cancel. For example, when I'm copying files in Windows Explorer EMC8 pops up and starts to load. I have to cancel to proceed. 2- In Windows Media Center when I want to rip my CDs EMC8 again wants to load. In neither case did I call for EMC8 to run nor was it in memory - it just starts loading by itself.

My current version of EMC8 is

Module Name: Roxio Creator 8 Suite Home

Version: 3.0.0

Build: 3.0.96B

Serial Number: Deleted, you don't want to show this.

Copyright: Sonic Solutions 2005

Module Name: PX Engine

Build: 2.7.40a, 70

Copyright: Sonic Solutions 2005

I tried to see if there was a fix to download but the build numbers the support site offers don't match the above.

The build numbers don't match, because you are looking in the wrong place for them. Open Creator Classic, click on Help/About, and you will see the Roxio build number.
