Videowave 9: Need help in controlling overlay path and size

LabuLabi2

Question

Hi,

Could someone please guide me on how to control an overlay path and size?

I'm trying to adjust an overlay (a photo) size, position and zoom level when it reaches at a certain time frame. I had tried to set it in the overlay setting panel, but unfortunately, it applied the settings to the whole time frame.

Here's what I have in mind:

1. Start time

x position = 0

y position = 0

size = 100%

zoom = 100%

2. Mid time (hold position)

x position = 160

y position = 0

size = 50%

zoom = 50%

3. Endtime

- same as Mid -

TIA for any help offered.

Rgds,

Labu.

Use the Search button to look for "Pan and Zoom" or "Pan & Zoom" in Easy Media Creator 9 forum.

Look at the motion settings for that overlay track. Since those are more controlled by the time the overlay track is displayed, you may have to add the overlay image more than one time and then see if you can get the overlay at the same location and then to play with it.

Alternately, work with that image to do the zoom you want and output it as an "mpg2 for DVD best quality" file. and then add the video as the overlay. Use both the location and the motion to get it how and where you want it.

:( I guess there's no way to do this straight foward. I hope Roxio/Sonic would consider this ability in their future release.

Sounds like an advanced feature for a professional type program.

err.. any suggestion on what should I use? I heard of Pinnacle, Adobe Premier, Ulead MediaStudio.. which one is suite for me? Or is there a better one?

Look at the ones that are in the $500+ (US) range (or those that don't give you a price)! :rolleyes::P Perhaps one of these from Sonic Solutions. All the others you named are consumer programs not professional programs. Personally, I rather work a little harder and save $$$$ :blink::P:D I don't believe that Pinnacle's or Ulead's will do it. I have not used Premier but I doubt it.

I'm not sure what you have in your part of the world or what the costs are. I hope you are a legitimate poster and not a shill for some other company and now will start posting that some other program is better.

You were given a solution to your issue that will work, use that or go to the other manufacturers and ask them how they do it. Pretty much the end of this conversation.
