Roxio Suite 9 - The system killer

dskaggs1

Question

I've had it with Roxio Suite 9. What a system killer!

I Use plain vanilla XP SP2 and Roxio 9 trashes it every time.

First: Right after loading Roxio it changes the XP login proceedure.

What's it doing messing with that huh?

Second: Then come the Roxio memory errors. First clue to big trouble coming

Third: System crash! - EVERY time! Especially heartbreaking after I have reformatted and reloaded all my software. Roxio 9 comes along and cleans my clock again.

Fourth: Going to another vender. Roxio 9 stinks. :angry2:

The Microsoft NetFrame is required for the software, and that is why the sign in was changed. It's a real easy fix to get rid of it. All you do is delete the user that it made, and no more sign in.

You didn't list your system specs. Usually an onboard video chip causes problems.

The first thing that comes to mind is that you now have two packet writing programs on your computer. Having two will give you a problem since they are fighting for control of your burning capabilities. The one associated with Roxio is called Drag to Disc. Another program of this sort is InCD (Ahead software). You can uninstall the one you want to. These types of programs allow you to drag files to a formatted CD for storage or transfer to another computer. The function to drag files to a disc using Windows is different and can be on your computer with one other.

Roxio 9 can be any number of different programs with that same version designation. Roxio is the name of the company so that's a pretty wide array of possibilities. I counted 6 possibilities.

Perhaps the program is just telling you something concerning an upcoming hardware failure. The login procedure is caused by XP net framework. You can just delete that account.

Now, since you already spent the money, do you want some help? Remember that we are users just like most of the people on this forum. We are here to help with issues that we may have experienced or read about.

Please post your computer specs. If you are not sure, download and run Belarc Advisor. It will tell you a lot about your computer. Did you check the minimum system requirements before buying the program? Did you have your anti-virus running when you installed?

The first thing I would try is to disconnect from the INTERNET and run an anti-virus check and malware check on your computer. Clean out your unused files by using Windows Clean-up utility. Shut down and reboot. Then, defrag your hard drive. Now shut down your anti-virus and anti-malware and do a Windows Control Panel Add or Remove programs repair on the program. In this case, I like to use the drop down box under the name of the program. When you click on the name of the program, you will get a drop down box with "click here for...". One options there is 'Repair" use that.

Please post back if you do want help. if not, well good luck.

I read you rreply. I'm aware of multiple packet writers on the system, hardware issues and all that stuff. I've been through this with ROXIO 9 about a gillion times. I took it off and am now running ASHAMPOO BURNING SUITE 7. It's MUCH BETTER! It doesn't mess with your system and is rock solid. After signing up at the ASHAMPOO WEB site I was able to purchase BURNING SUITE 7 for a song. It ROCKS!. And that's the end of the ROXIO story for this user.
