I want NO Menu in Slideshow created in MyDVD

emptr

Question

I'm importing jpeg files and music to create a slideshow to be viewed on a DVD player attached to a Television.

I don't want a menu. The instructions for creating the show without a menu indicate that the choice has to be made early in the game, because the menu cannot be deleted.

I have printed the tutorial but can't determine exactly when and how (having read two different sets of instructions) to prevent the creation of a menu.

I'd appreciate any help, because this is just the latest of a string of problems I've had with this newly purchased software - including replacing my DVD -RW drive.

Thanks.

"Early in the game" means before you do anything in MyDVD. After launching MyDVD, select File>New Project>DVD, no menus. That will provide you with what I think you want, that is, a DVD that will start playing immediately when placed in a DVD player without displaying any menus. Now, if you have already created your slideshow in MyDVD using menus, I do not know of a way to eliminate the menu. I think you will need to start over choosing "DVD, no menus" before creating your slideshow.

I suggest you use Videowave to create slideshows, and then import that Videowave project into MyDVD. That way, you can change MyDVD settings at anytime without having to redo the slideshow.

Hope that helps.

Hi, I'm new to MyDVD and am trying to put AVi files from my camcorder onto DVDs. I want to have NO Menu (including the "root" menu) so that my Videos will simply start-up after inserted into a DVD player. I have tried Merv's suggestions and find there is no "DVD, no menus" selection after tabbing 'New Project' (as described by Merv). I tried clicking on each possible option under 'New Project' and none has a No Menu option (the closest are: ....File>New Project>Video> then either MyDVD or QuickDVD. I have EM version 9.1.068 (if this helps). Does anyone know how to create VIDEO DVDs with NO Root Menu... my elderly parents have a hard time with using/understanding Menus and are used to simply loading a DVD into their DVD Player & watching the video play by itself ?? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks !

HI EVERYONE... I FIGURED IT OUT... my mistake is starting up EM using the EM "MAIN MENU" where afterwhich one then selects the program one wants to use. I've been clicking on the desktop ICON installed by EM and this puts you into a "main COMMON menu" thru which one then selects the task one wants to do.

The way to get to 'NO MENU' (at least for creating DVDs) is to go to START>PROGRAMS>Roxio EMC 9>VIDEO>MYDVD> and this will bring-up MyDVD 'directly'... once MyDVD comes up, follow Merv's instructions and you will be able to select "DVD No Menus" !!! Don't know if this is a bug .... but it is rather confusing when going thru the default EMC 'main program menu' via the desktop ICON installed by Roxio. Thanks & Enjoy!!
