Feature Request

glenesis

Question

I am a professional audio engineer, and Jam has been my tool of choice for mastering my cd productions for as long as Jam has been around. I love that many of the features of Jam have been incorporated into Toast 8. You guys are so close to having all of the features included, why stop where you did?

I really need to have ISRC numbers in Toast, if I am going to use it to replace Jam.

Also of note is that there is no way to easily open a Jam CD image (.Sd2f) in Toast. I really need the "Open As Disc Image..." menu item back.

When I drop a Jam image on Toast 8, I get an error that the format is unsupported. That is really painful, as most of my work in Toast revolves around using audio disc images. Oddly, the contextual menu item Mount It will mount an .Sd2 or .Sd2f as an audio CD. Kudos on the plug-in... it just keeps getting better and better.

BTW, Toast 8 is the most absolutely gorgeous upgrade I've ever seen to any app that I use daily. Thanks a lot, and please, keep up the great work!

Well, I just upgraded the studio's copy of Toast 8 to 8.01, which correctly loads .Sd2f audio disc images. That feature fix was not mentioned in the upgrade release notes, but it is there, and I am grateful! Thanks! And ISRC is in the info box that comes up when I double-click the file, so, now, Toast 8 is technically perfect. Thanks a lot!!!

I would still like to see an editable ISRC column in the main window, as an advanced option, maybe.

Cheers!
