Creating a DVD from Divx/.avi file

Cory

Question

I'm very new to DVD burning. So here's my situation. I have an .avi movie I guess encoded with Divx, if that makes sense. I would like to burn this .avi movie to a DVD so it can play on a conventional home DVD player. I plan on burning it to a DVD-RW disc. Does the Divx to DVD utility on EMC 9 automatically convert the file into a format the DVD player will understand? What do I do?

Unless your player plays raw divx files, it will need to be made dvd compliant to play in standard players. You can use EMC's Divx to DVD or use MyDVD and it will convert the file to a DVD. Drag to Disc will not make it DVD Compliant.
