using audio when pictures are playing not during video

Question

Hi I am new to the DVD 9 studio premiere program. I am trying to make a DVD using pictures and video clips. I want to add music, but when I do I can't figure out how to make the music stop when the video clip is playing the music plays over the video clip so you can't hear the people talking. I am mixing the pictures and the video up, so I want the music to continue when the video clip is done and the pictures start again. Please help I am ready to pull my hair out.

Thanks

Michele

Hi, Michele

I am making a rash assumption that MyDVD in EMC9 works like your MyDVD Studio Premiere version. Since I do not have the standalone version of MyDVD, I cannot be sure.

From the menu screen, point to and right click on the movie you want to modify, and select Edit Movie. When the editor opens, follow the instruction contained in the last tutorial in this link (thanks to Sknis). The tutorial, shows how to reduce a video clip's native audio, but the technique is the same for the music track. Simply lower the music clip audio volume for the duration of the video clip and then restore the volume when the pictures begin, per the turtorial.

Hope that helps
