avi to dvd film cuts short

Question

Hi all

just encountered an issue when trying to burn/convert some film files in avi format to a dvd+rw for playing in anormal dvd player.

i create the dvd as normal with menu and chapters etc all looks good each chapter has its own freeze frame pic etc, i then burn to dvd the process gives me no errors etc yet when i then take the dvd to my dvd player and play it... the menus work choose chapter 1 starts to play then freezes after a few minutes with a static film frame, even if i choose a different chapter it shows me the same static film frame as from chapter 1, ive tried playing it in 3 different players one of which plays any format any region and get the same static film frame, playing in the pc usind windvd 8 does the same thing, ive attempted a reburn 3 times with the same result. The films a utorrent rip !!

Does the dvd play ok in your computer? I've not found RW's to work as well in all my players especially after a number of uses. Many times, when the same project is burned to a standard dvd, I no longer have these types of problems.

If the disc doesn't play correctly on the computer it was made with, it's very unlikely it will play on any player. Did you try burning to a standard dvd to see if it works? Are you burning direct to disc? If so, try burning to an image file and see if that works better.

i think is maybee something to do with the avi film file ripped from utorrent as it wont get past the same time line point when its burned to any dvd format encrypted or something ?
