zoran
Can you help with a problem? I have these files to convert into any kind (avi or mpeg....) of file that can be included in a DVD compilation The files are in a form of a standalone application, .exe files - made by VideoLiveMail from Cyberlink, a very old (about 6 or 5 years old) version /newer ones don't have the .exe option. The software cannot be found for now, and I don't really know if it can be used to convert these files. The files were made by capturing from web camera and small dv camera, I don't think that the author did any other form of file. The picture of it: If this topic does not belong here move it or delete it but, if you know where this question can be answered, tell me Thanks! My original advice would have been to check with Cyberlink, but I suspect that's not going to be the answer. Note that the spelling of Cyberlink is different in the http address and the support address. Are you certain of the source of these files? The files that I have to convert are from a friend who needs them converted for a video exhibition/installation-this source is clean and the files are on a CD and everything is clean there The program was as I was told from Cyberlink's site/I suppose it was not a fake site/, but now I can't check it on my PC, or on Virustotal or anywhere...or the site where it was downloaded from At least the files are checked...Clean When you check on google there are some relations between cyberlink's products and cyberklink and it doesn't look bad, as far as I can see, maybe I'm wrong... And the cyberlink's forum is virtually empty....
gi7omy
I've a feeling the varying spellings are all down to someone in Taiwan with a poor grasp of English letters Video LiveMail 4 is listed here but part of the blurb says specifically "No ".EXE" files which means no possibility of viruses." so you may have an older incompatible version. It's impossible to read the version number in the screen dump - but if you have that, a search on eBay or Amazon may help or there is a trial version that can be downloaded here and see if that can work with the .exe format
zoran
Thanks, I did try the new one but it can't import .exe I'll try the other one, I hope it's older , I have missed this one and I did try old software sites Thanks!
zoran
The other link is also the new version but I'll try Old Version forum, maybe there is an old VLMail to be found If you know any other way to solve this, post Thanks!
Brendon
If you're really stuck, it might be worth trying with something like WinRAR to see if the .exe files are really just your videos in a self-expanding container envelope which might be able to be opened with WinRAR or WinZIP. Regards, Brendon

Regards, Brendon I did that, but the only thing I could do is to open it,the file, in Notepad(with WinRar), but I don't know programming or building applications so, it was of no use. There is no option to extract the files from .exe to folder, as it should be if it was a container/WinRar and WinZip/. Thanks!

It takes them a day or two to reply but you will get some sort of response - you may or may not like the answer. You'll have to register and put in the program information but just put in anything except when you do ask the question. You might also want to try the paid voice support.. Perhaps they can answer your questions and maybe even let you download an old version. I know this is inferred by these posts but nothing in Roxio.Sonic Solutions would be able to do anything with those files. I hesitate to ask but did you just download and run that exe file? It may be a form of reader for those files. I also doubt if the quality of anything on the disc would be good for anything.

I didn't download the file, it was made (all in all 20 or so) by a friend, with the software, and that was a while ago, and now she needs the files in a different form for an exhibition, it doesn't have to be big(the quality is within reason) but it must be in a dvd form. I would like to know about the reader if you know about it. I was told that here people might have information or solution-that is why this topic. cdanteek
zoran, how large is the smallest 'standalone application, .exe files' ? If it's small enough, I'm thinking you could email me one. cd
zoran
zoran, how large is the smallest 'standalone application, .exe files' ? If it's small enough, I'm thinking you could email me one. cd Thanks! That will be great if you are still there, the smallest one is 363kb in size, if you want I can send it, and if you want it can be just the file or in a zipped or Rar form. Thanks!!!! We did some experiments with Screen recording software - nothing, and old VLMail is still nowhere to be found. When you come back if you are offline now, just confirm, because I'm running out of options and time. Thanks again!
