CinePlayer

Why would you be trying to save data with a media playing application?

That would be a NO.

Cineplayer can play movies, but has no ability to write to a CD or DVD.

Do you have any other Roxio/Sonic programs?

Thank you. That is what I have been asking the Dell tech's. My CD-RW stopped letting me use the D drive for personal data. I wrote Dell, they did not send a disk so I could reinstall my D drive with the computer, they replied by sending me CinePlayer so I installed it and wrote them I still have the same problem, they seem to be having a senior moment and after much correspondence decided I needed to replace my drive. What other Roxio software do I need to have this ability (to write to a CD). With all their do this/that, patches etc. I am in a mess.

Actually, you don't need Roxio software to write a CD if you have WindowsXP installed on that computer.

Go to Start\ Help, then type in ' write cd '. You'll get instructions on how to use the built in CD burning software to write a CD.

You don't happen to have Internet Explorer 7 installed? That may have broken the CD burning program that came preinstalled on your Dell. Remove it under Windows Add Remove programs to revert to IE 6. IE 7 'breaks' many older programs.
