Moving Photos in Slideshow

rufus23

Question

I am creating a slideshow in Videowave and having a few problems. Right before the transition starts, the photo moves downward by a small amount (this shows in the preview mode and on the DVD generated). The next photo in the slideshow then is in the upper position and right before the transition starts, the photo moves down a small amount again. The photos do not move down a lot but it is noticeable and annoying. I have chosen random generation for the slideshow. The photos do not move downward when the dissolve transition is chosen. I would like to use random transitions for the slideshow without the photos moving downward. I have a brand new HP lap top so I do not think I have hardware issues.

Also, I cannot change the transition duration (right click on transition theme and apply to all transitions) to 2 seconds for all transitions after I choose random transitions. It seems to revert back to the default transition duration of .77 seconds. If I try to change the transition duration again then I lose the random transition choice I made previously.

Yes you do.

Your first problem is common for some people with specific hardware. Two things to try 1) update to the latest video driver for your video card and 2) switch to software mode; You will not be able to use some transitions. Althought your computer is new, the drivers for it may not be.

The second problem is that one or more of your images are set to a short duration. Lengthen the images buy one second and try again. The transitions take up part of the duration of the image so a image will actually be displayed for the time set minus half the time of the preceding the image minus half the time of the following transition.

I would put money on you having an NVidia video card. I have one, and you will not get rid of that problem. It is a problem with NVidia drivers, and/or the software. It does not happen with ATI video cards.

In short, there is nothing you can do about it.

For my slideshow, right after the 3-D transition ends, the photo moves upward to the left by a small amount. This happens in the Videowave preview mode and in the DVD burned. The photos do not move a lot but it is noticeable and annoying. The photos do not move when the dissolve transition is chosen or when software rendering is used. I have read other discussion threads and have upgraded my Intel video card drivers for my new laptop, changed the setting to best performance, and tried burning at a slower rate but was unsuccessful.

I was hoping to use 3-D transitions. Is it unusual that the photos move even in the Videowave preview mode, not just burning the DVD? Any suggestions?
