Media Creator fails to Launch Completely

Schmerz

Question

I am looking after a machine, an AMD athlon 64 x2 4200 with 2 gigs of ram, Microsoft Windows XP Home SP2, running EMC9, I can launch the shell program, but when I try to launch one of the sub programs, in this case "Music" ( although I get the same results from "DVD") the Program freezes. ( Nearly 12 hours now).

What I have done:

I have run both an anti virus, and anti syware on the machine (AVG).

I have defragged.

I have uninstalled, hacked from registry, and re installed.

The machine is not being over taxed ( Processor use never climbs over 50%, Memory use never clmbs over 650 M)

Is this a Problem with XP Home? A bad download/install?

Any Help would be good, I've talked with a couple friends, we are scrathing our heads over here.

The Home app mostly uses things that were Sonic applications and the Start menu has mostly Roxio apps. For some reason people that have had trouble doing things from the home app can get them to work by using the ones from the Start menu. Why,I have no clue but it's worth a try.
