Skipping during playback

trisha

Question

I'm having trouble with a skip or pause occurring during playback of video slideshows on a television. It actually causes the counter on the DVD player to go back to "0". You can't even rewind beyond that point. It doesn't happen in the preview on the computer, or even when played on the computer, only on the TV. It's happened on 2 different slideshows that I've made now, both at about 9 minutes in. Can anyone help? I've got 5 more graduation slideshows to do and this is driving me crazy!

If it plays OK on your computer but not on your DVD player, the problem is usually the DVD player. There are exceptions.

A couple of things to try, run a disk cleaner on your player or blow it out with canned dry air; be careful. Put the disc in your computer and run the DVD Info Pro to see if there are any write errors; switch to a better quality DVD; not all DVDs manufacturers have the same quality standard and finally, do not burn directly to a disc. Read the post about creating an ISO file and burning at a slower speed as discussed in the thread about "one way of doing it" Find that post in the tips and tricks area of thew EMC 9 board.

OK, I don't think it's the DVD player, because it occurs on every DVD player I've tried it on. Also, I tried installing the whole Roxio program on my son's brand new laptop and redid the whole slide show from scratch, and it still skips at 9 minutes in. I think it's something in the program itself -? HAs anyone else ever had this problem?
