Why do these things always happen when you’re on the tightest deadline?
Here is what I’ve done so far.
Footage brought in Via XLH1 1080 50i (I'm in the UK) into Prem Pro 2. I them encoded 1 1/2 mins of footage to make a test disc using the setting that SS Scott suggested would go straight through (however DVD it HD still seemed to re-encode it?) i.e.
Adobe Premiere Pro
File | Export | Adobe Media Encoder
Format: MPEG2
Preset: 1080 50i (as UK)
Mbps: set it to 30 CBR
File was only 387MB
I then burned it to a Verbatim disc using SONY BWU-100A BLU-RAY burner.
I'm using Power DVD Ultra and although I’ve had a Graphics card in the computer that supports it still won’t play, so my only option is to play it on a stand alone player. As my client is going to play it on a PS3 I went into our Local Sony Centre and it wouldn’t play on there PS3 (V1.56 I think) or a Sony media that supported Blu-ray using Win DVD.
I've installed the DVDit HD PS3 path, but still no good. I've also tried making a disc using an ISO file made from DVDit HD which I will try tomorrow.
The other thing that seemed odd was the speed at which it wrote the disc; do Blu-ray discs not need to burn a lead-in or Lead out? It seemed to complete the disk quicker that a STD DVD? All so the disk shows as BD ROM rather than the project/title name.
Any help would be great as I really don’t want to have to give them a Std Def DVD.
