HOW TO MIX SONGS

Bubbard

Question

I want to mix audio songs....like DJs do. Basically I want to have one song playing and then the second song ending before the first one ends. Have tried doing this with sound editor (have DELUXE ROXIO 9), but can't get them to merge. With Windows Movie Maker, I could do this by literally dragging one song on top of another. How can I do it with Sound Editor?

Thank you

Maybe this will help:

Load songs and place alternately in layers 1 and 2. drag tracks in the mix editor to adjust overlap regions to suit.

Note: If only layer 1 is showing when you open Sound Editor, click on the green + in layer 1 to open the second layer.

If you want fade in/fade out, select a track in the mix editor to show in the tracks timeline, select the overlap region (either the start or the end of the track, as appropriate), edit the volume line to suit ((eithe using Tools, fadinf and volume, fade in or fade out as appropriate, or right click on the volume line, create node, drag the node to suit; you can have several nodes to have a non linear fade: experiment).

When done Export mix and save to appropriate format (I use .wav).

If you want load the mixfile, tools, fading & volume, maximise volume.

You can also use music disc creator, see

I saw a post that has discussion on crossfading.
