Question

Where is this patch.... I have had roxio 9 for months now, and have had problems the entire time. First there was a post saying the patch was due in april... it is now about half way through June. I am extremely disappointed, because it seems that making a working program has never been a concern for programmers. I do not care who's fault it is (roxio's or microsoft) The fact that you know there is a problem and instead of working for a patch you release the version in retail only.

I have been watching and waiting for months now without complaining.. However, having a need to use the program this weekend with the only result of being forced to hard boot my computer several times has pushed me over the edge..

No one here knows when it will show up and we are all awaiting it as well. John has posted that he does not have any information when it will be posted only that they are working on it. I'm sure if he had info for us, he would tell us what he knew whether we liked the answer or not.

Its just that there have been a couple of delays. One of wich was releasing EMC 9 Deluxe as 9.1 because we are hoping to get an update out there that will update both versions. I keep getting release dates, but they keep slipping. And rather then explain why we missed every date I post, I simply am not going to post one and just say "soon".

Ask Microsoft how it works when you post release dates and feature sets ;)

There is that word again [soon]

Sought

Of

Offically

Never

What does Microsoft have to do with the patch?

I think John was using MS as an "example" of how when dates are posted, they are usually not very accurate, and the actuial dates end up being later. Sometimes much later than originally thought or targeted.

Exactly. And to take it a step further, they have to cut announced features just to meet the later then promised date. This is simply one of the difficulties of a software company.

John was saying soon forever. I have come to the opinion that John, although a good man, hasn't a clue. I think he is way down the Roxio food chain, and has been left out to dry.

Sucks to say, but that possibly could be the situation. That he does not have that information.

edit: I have suggested a few weeks before that despite whether the news is good or bad, the users would be much more content if there were some information.

Oh...... Now I got it...

John... I am not picking on you (I am still waiting for my Ipod though (80 gig gen 2 with video (black))). You refer to a "later then promised date".

I must have missed that one. What was the promised date?

The 'Dell Patch' firstly is ONLY for Dell machines and all it does is to fix the 'driver' issue with DLA

The best way to fix that on other machines is to uninstall Drag to Disc (that's the app which uses the DLA driver)

it is NOT the patch for the 9.1 update

Comparing release of an OS vs a software patch and/or update is not the same.

Bottom line, alot of customers and users are waiting for a patch to fix existing builds of EMC9, both on XP and Vista.

Otherwise, more of these, 'where's the patch?' threads will keep appearing.
