Slideshow & Video Will Not Open

Webjazz

Question

I am using v7 with Windows XP, IE v6 and Windows Media Player v9.

When I click on Create Slideshow, I get a window that says, "Please wait - loading components" for a few seconds, then NOTHING! Same with anything under the Video tab.

I would really love to have the new Version 9 but hesitate to buy it if I can't make this version work.

I have done a Repair via Control Panel, Install and Uninstall Programs. It didn't change a thing.

Hope someone can guide me to a solution.

Have you tried to create the slideshow using Videowave( which is a much better method of creating slideshows anyway).

Could you also list your system specs, especially video card.

I wouldn't buy version 9 until we find out what's wrong.

First see if WindowsXP Data Execution Prevention is blocking it.

Go to the Windows Control Panel\ System settings. Go to the Advanced tab, then Performance Settings, then Data Execution Protection. See if Turn on DEP for essential Windows services is checked. If it isn't, change the setting to Windows essential services.

Also, if you could give a listing of your computer's specifications, that might help us spot any potential problems.
