REDWAGON
Yeah, isn't this a great flag ?? It's a beautiful place, close to Vandenberg AFB. Check out the dimensions of the flag. The Floral Flag is 740 feet long and 390 feet wide and maintains the proper Flag dimensions, as described in Executive Order #10834. This Flag is 6.65 acres and is the first Floral Flag to be planted with 5 pointed Stars, comprised of White Larkspur. Each Star is 24 feet in diameter; each Stripe is 30 feet wide. This Flag is estimated to contain more than 400,000 Larkspur plants, with 4-5 flower stems each, for a total of more than 2 million flowers. Frank... Brendon
If it's that big it should be visible in Google Earth. Does anyone have coordinates for the flag (not the AFB) ??

bimicher
If it's that big it should be visible in Google Earth. Does anyone have coordinates for the flag (not the AFB) ?? The flag is supposedly located near the intersection of V Street and Ocean Ave in Lompoc, Ca. (34°38'20"N, 120°28'37"W) Google shows just a couple of large empty fields in that area. Of course we don't know if the flag is current or even exists anymore. Brendon
I don't think they're going to overfly your place very soon, Neil. (unless you advertise George Bush's watch on eBay)

cdanteek
I don't think they're going to overfly your place very soon, Neil. (unless you advertise George Bush's watch on eBay) How about Doc Holiday's Dental Chair, on eBay? Google's free version still shows trees at my place that were cut down September 2005. "Note: While there are additional capabilities and features available in Google Earth Plus, the underlying imagery is the same for all versions of Google Earth." I have no experience with Google Earth Plus, is it realtime or are the scans old? cd
Brendon
The age of the scans vary. You can see when the area you're looking at was last scanned by clicking on the DG (Digital Globe) box in the sidebar and zooming out to see the date and the area which was scanned. I think they last got your place in 2004. Regards, Brendon
