Question

The monitors deleted my previous post two weeks ago. This is ridiculous.

Welcome!

Please wait while we contact the next available agent...

You are now speaking with Preet!

Preet: Hi! My name is Preet. How may I help you?

Preet: Hello, How can I help you?

Michael : When will the update / patch of media Creator 9 be released to the Vista compatibility issues?

Preet: Sorry I don't have an ETA as to when it will be released, currecntly it is being worked on

Michael : We've been hearing that for months now, yet your company continues to sell the version 9 product left and right saying it is Vista compatible when it is not. Do you have a number to call so I can get a refund?

Preet: Please call Customer Service at 1-866-280-7694

Michael : and what will they tell me? Are they prepared to issue an immediate refund?

Preet: Idon't know you will have to discuss that with them

It seems to me Preet is with Tech Support and refunds come from Customer Service so you'd have to contact them with refund questions.

Yep Beerman is right. She gave you the proper channel to get a refund. I understand you may not want to call, but if it gets you what you want, is it really that big of a deal?

Almost every business I know of makes it at least stlightly harder to get a refund or cancel the service then to purchase it. It's just how business is done. How many lines are there to return something at Walmart? How many check out lines are there? I am not justifying it, I am just saying, this isn't really that odd.

And I might be wrong (if so John can correct me) but I think that Roxio is not the one directly giving out the rebates. I think they probably sub out their refund options to another company all to gether. I have found that to be true with quite a few other companies that have the option for a refund.

The refunds come from sonicstorecs@digitalriver.com. I don't know who digitalriver.com is.

Here is the bad thing.... You buy your suite from Best Buy for instance. They have a policy that they will not give refunds on purchased software if it has been opened. If it has been opened, they will only exchange for an identical piece. So unless your disks are unreadable, you end up at the same place.

Same goes for all the big box stores.

Unless you purchased your software directly from Roxio, you can kiss you refund goodbye.

What I have read on the so called "patch"....

It only addresses the DLA component. I can not confirm or deny, just what I have read.

So..... What about the other issues? You know.... Audio sync, having to launch some apps from the start menu instead of from the Home app, having to do a clean install "multiple times", etc, etc...

I am not bashing... We are ALL waiting for the so called "Patch". Some Vista users want it so the software will run under Vista. I still have issues under XP that I am hoping will be resolved.

However.... There is no "word" from Roxio. We are all just speculating. Even "John @ Roxio" can not, or will not commit to any resolution.

We all know though.... The patch will be available "soon".

I am sure that it was a board glitch. I am sure that no one would delete your post. :D
