Titles getting cut off in DVDBuilder

soccrfn

Question

Two issues:

I hope this make sense.

1) I created a project with 8 titles (from mpgs made in Videuwave) , customized the theme, etc, and then saved it all in DVDBuilder.

Then I needed to change one of the mpgs. So I closed DVD Builder, opened the specific title in Videowave to edit, and made changes (which made the mpg 10 second a longer). I saved output to the same file and overwrote it. Then I pulled up DVD Bulder, reopened the saved project, to burn the new image.

I found that the DVD Builder read the changes in the new mpg file, but kept the same time, so the last 10 seconds is cut off. Is that correct? To get around that, I added a new title to the selected scene (making 2 of the same mpg title) and then deleted the 1st title. This seemed to work. Am I correct to assume that DVD Builder does NOT adjust the time of a title if it is updated, even if the mpg file is the same name.

2) Once titles are imported in to DVDBuilder, is there any way to change the order of play. Kind of a pain to start all over again.

Thanks

I'm a liittle unclear. I wrote over the old file so the location never changed.

Not efficient, but I did it get it to work using the format I mentioned above, so all is ok. Sounds like sort of what you did with the wrong location.

Thanks though.

I did not try it this way but the preferred way of dealing with video is to save the Project (dmsm) in VW and not Output As.

Then in Builder you pick the VW Project file (dmsm) when you Add Title. This should cause Builder to update automatically whenever the Builder Project file (dmsd) is loaded…

Something you can give a try and let us know…

To item 1, there are a few ways to go wrong with this one…

Assuming mpg file and not a dmsm from VW, in order for you to alter the file you have to File - Output Production To. Before selecting that option, you would have to have ALL parts of the multiple files highlighted! If you don't then only the one highlighted will be output. Then you would have to browse to the original mpg file and allow it to overwrite it.

If you just type in the name it is going to save the altered version to C:\Documents & Settings\username\My Documents\My Videos. Now if that is not the location of the original file, DVD Builder would have no knowledge of that location and will continue to load the old file…

You have to be very careful of the steps you take but it does work as expected – I created a project in Builder. Closed and loaded one clip in VW and added a 13 minute clip to it. Output As then closed and opened Builder. Since I made the location error, I had to choose Advanced Edit and delete the existing file, then move to the new file location and add it to the title I had open in the VW Editor. Back to Builder and all was well!

You explained the problem very well.

1. I've never heard of this before. You don't have to do an output to an mpeg2 file. You should be able to add the VideoWave file to DVD Builder. Then changes that you make to the VideoWave file will be automatically changed in DVD Builder.

2. Unfortunately, no.
