Problem with CDDBUI.dll in Vista

MikeRadio

Question

I am getting the same thing as the original poster... THEN when I close the programn from the welcome screen (I am using Vista Ultimate) I get a crash message, and the details say the module at fault is CDDBUIroxio.dll.

Anyone else have this issue?

It seems to be different for each person. I've tested out my home menu a couple of times within half an hour of someone posting their "home menu problem", and it always worked just fine.

Its possible the problem comes from firewalls and such. Maybe a cleaning of cookies and temp files can fix it, or maybe there are some settings within a router?

Now I do get the right stuff on the welcome menu but STILL get a crash when closing Roxios main screen, and the error windows reports has to do with still cddbuiroxio.dll.

Anything that can be done to prevent this.. I tried reinstalling but no dice.

Again, this ONLY happens when closing the main window, not the individual apps

Maybe it is a security or registration issue? Thanks for th ehelp

FWIW, depending of course on if what you use etc...

EMC9 sets a few apps in the registry to autostart with Vista &/or XP. It also sets 4 or 5 services to autostart.

Some folks don't like to load up windows more than it already is, others despise auto start apps because everyone thinks their program is the only one auto starting, and it's your problem when the software conflicts with something else.

Setting the aforementioned services to manual & deleting the autostart reg entries won't cause the world, even a tiny part of it, to end. :P

The Home menu not connecting to the interent just means that the Roxio server is down. You're not the only one experenceing that.

Do you get the error if you run programs directly (not through the Home menu)?

I only get the error closing the HOME menu. If I opoen Music Disc Creator or Creator Classic Directly and close, no error.

I am also NOT getting the fixed menu opener yet.

My welcome screen. like others does not connect to the internet like it is supposed to... I am running 9.1.068.

Howeverm also when i EXIT the program, I get a program stopped responding message from vista.

When I check the error info, it says the module that fauled was CDDBUIRoxio.dll.

Anyone else have this or can someone tell me what is wrong? This was a CLEAN Vista install using the method suggested by Roxio to "clean up" the OEM version.

The program seems to run fine (although I havent done much with it yet), But I get this error always on exiting.

Any help?

I am not sure this is VISTA related, but I do not have the issue on my old XP machine so I think it might be...

Firstly, My welcome screen. like others does not connect to the internet like it is supposed to... I am running 9.1.068. This problem DOES happen on BOTH machines...

But ONLY on my Vista with a clean install....when I EXIT the program, I get a program stopped responding message from vista.

When I check the error info, it says the module that fauled was CDDBUIRoxio.dll.

It is very nice to see someone moved my messages which were reply to other messages on other sections here all on to one message.

Thank you.

Anyone have a solution or would know why this happens? CDDBUI I would assumne has to do with accessing gracenote.. Dont know why it crashes on exit.

Just a theory - CDDBUI is CD DataBase User Interface and, as you thought, is connected to the graceland database.

What I think may be happening is that as you finish a compilation, it tries to download the info and if it's not on the database, then it hangs and stays running so that, when you close the program, that module is sort of hung up in mid air
