Update from Toast 7

Tinkerer

Question

I have updated Toast 7 to Toast 8 and when it installs I get the message that it has not found Toast 7 and the continue button remains grey.

It also tells me to insert the key code from Toast 7, which I did.

The Continue button remains grey.

I contacted Sales support and they sent me a new key code.

That did not work either.

I contacted Sales support again and the y gave me a technical support address and a telephone number which may be in the US as it does not work.

I tried the site address.

This turned out to be a site called "Roxanne" that operated by recognising key words.

I have been round and round in circles and there appears to be no provision for making personal contact with anyone.

If you have any suggestions that may help, I would be grateful

BTW. I have already tried re-installing Toast 7 and the update. I have removed all the USB connections too.

I am using system 10.4.9 on a G4 MDD with a USB 2 card fitted.

Regards, Tink.

Wait, you updated your toast 7 to 8? Do you mean you upgraded to toast 8 or do you mean you updated your toast 7 to 7.1.2?

My confustion comes from your sentence:

BTW. I have already tried re-installing Toast 7 and the update.

If you installed Toast 8 then I don't see why this would be relavent.

Sorry, I should have said UpGRADE.

Hoping it would improve things I then tried to update to 7.1.2

The update stopped at the same hurdle and Toast 7 no longer works.
