Disk Copier: Please Insert Blank Disk In This Drive

brythonic

Question

I've been trying to burn KVCDs with Roxio 8 using the Disc Copier fuctions (defaults to then when you load a .cue) and every time it tells me "Please insert blank disk in this drive." I've tried all different kinds of media (right now I'm using plain Maxell CD-R 80min/700MB) and I've never been able to burn one KVCD. I can burn everything else just fine.... ...it's just these that it has a problem with. On my PC I have Nero and it burns the same files using the same media without any problems. Any ideas?

Gateway 450ROG (laptop)

XP SP2

Centrino 1400Mhz

QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-242

Mobility Radeon 7500

I am not sure that this software can burn a super compressed format to a CD as a movie. It is possible that the super compressed movie file is not compatible.

Work around for burning KVCDs

  1. Double click on .cue file and launch Disk Copier
  2. Choose option to save, pick .iso and save to hard drive
  3. On Roxio Home (in lower right hand corner) click Option
  4. Check the box next to Overburn (leave numbers as they are) and Save
  5. Double click on saved .iso file and Disk Copier will launch again
  6. Put blank media (CD-R for KVCDs) in drive and burn to CD

What a complete pain in the rear. I've used a version of this program since EZCD Creator 4 (before Roxio purchased it) and my next burning program will not be Roxio. Sorry guys, you've just let me down to much over the last couple of years. I'm tired of having to work for my software. It's time it works for me instead.

You are preaching to a forum, not Roxio. We are users, like you. If you want Roxio to see your comments, contact them directly.
