Converting MP4 to WAV, WMA or MP3

Peachy4833

Question

All of the sudden I can not get songs from my iTunes library to convert from MP4 to WAV, WMA or MP3 files anymore. When I try to convert them I keep getting an error message that states, in part" "the file . . . does not exist or is not a supported audio file". Any suggestions as to why this is happening and what can be done to get these to convert to WAV, WMA or MP3 files so they can be used in some slideshow software I am using?

mp4 is an Apple protected file.No version of Roxio will use them as a supported file type.If you've done an update to your software that's probably why you can't anymore.

Sorry,I spoke incorrectly.mp4 is a video format.M4p is the format that iTunes uses.If you are trying to convert iTunes tracks then thats what is protected.

It's odd though that I was able to get one to convert late last night from the same library and it was an mp4 format....some seem to convert and others don't yet all are located in my iTunes library.

Does anyone know of any other program out there that will enable me to convert all of my songs in iTunes to other formats?

Thanks for any help offered!

The only work around I use currently is I have taken my favorite M4P songs and recorded them to disc

using ITunes burning options. I then use CD convert via the Roxio Creator 9 Home edition. Using the MP3 conversion has worked. Any other thoughts that don't require burning extra CD's would be apprciated. I haven't tried the DVD (more tunes loaded) option. I don't even know if ITunes burns to DVD.
