Adding Text and Credits

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to add an opening screen with text, WITHOUT the text being shown on the following clip. Is there a place you can select how long you want the opening screen to last?

 

Also, is there an easy way to add scrolling credits at the end of the movie? I went from Windows Movie Maker to this software and the other sure seems easier.

Go to the Tips & Tricks forum. There is a video for that. Click on the thread 'Home Made Video Demos'. Just add your text to the internal track and it will conform to the length of that clip or color panel.
