Texan
Is there a option within EMC Deluxe Videowave to insert arrows. I want to "point" to an event during a video. I suspect I can import from an outside source but thought there may just be a place I have not found w/i the application. thanks
karri
It's been my experience that you can more quickly avoid the border on an image by saving it as a .gif file with a transparent background. Ceate the arrow in your image editing program, save it as a transparent .gif file, and then import it as an overlay into Videowave. Hope this can help
ggrussell
You should also be able to use any image format that supports transparency like TIFF and PNG, too. PhotoSuite 9 which is included with EMC 9 fully supports these formats.

If you can find an image of an arrow with a unusual color background, you can apply chroma color to hide any border around the image. Select a color that is not in your video - orange is normally OK as are shades of green.Sometimes chroma key is called green screen. Here is an example of a hard drawn arrow I made with an orange canvas (Photosuite). I added it as an overlay and then applied chroma color to get rid of the orange. This was a two second job so I didn't search for an arrow or try to draw a good one. The straight arrow in the same image is from a different program. To get to chroma key, double click on the overlay (your arrow) and then us the drop down arrow to select chroma key. Then select the color that most closely matches the background of your arrow. ggrussell
or for more accuracy, click on the color patch and then the 'dropper'. Move the mouse to the over lay and click the 'dropper' on the color you want keyed.
