Change Back to 16:9 in Slideshow?

Eph

Question

I created a slideshow in VideoWave in 4:3, imported it into MyDVD, then made a bunch of edits to it.

I've decided I want to change the slideshow to 16:9, but can't figure out how to do that without starting all over again.

Is there a simple way?

Thanks!

Eph

There is no simple or quick way. If you still have the Videowave production, OUTPUT TO FILE as DV AVI. Then insert that into a 16:9 production. That would be letterboxed though. If you want a real 16:9 slideshow, you will have to start over.

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately, I don't have the Videowave production anymore.

The problem is that the DVD I created now has a 16:9 video and a 4:3 slideshow. Seemed to make sense given the source material for each.

However, I noticed that 2 of my 3 DVD players don't handle the differences well, causing the pictures in the slideshow to be stretched to fit my 16:9 screen unless I go into the TV's (or DVD player's) setup and change the ratio.

Are there any other simple solutions I could try at this point given that I don't have a Videowave production to go back to as you suggest above?

Thanks again,

Eph

You've discovered the problem with mixing formats. If you have a 4:3 TV, the disc should work fine with the DVD player set at letterbox. The 4:3 slideshow looks great and the 16:9 video would be letterboxed.

However on a 16:9 TV, that doesn't work well. You need to set the DVD Player to 'widescreen' for the 16:9 video, but then the 4:3 slideshow gets squished which means changing the TV settings or changing the DVD player settings.

Unfortunately, there is no simple or quick solution and I'm afraid you will need to completely redo the entire slideshow as 16:9.
