VCD slideshow stops early during playback

chanwmr

Question

I created my slideshow and burned it into a VCD. When a production was short (say less 5-6 minutes), everything seemed to playback perfectly, both from a set-top DVD player and with PowerDVD. The latest compilation that I did was a bit long (about 8 min), the movie was cut off at about 6.5 minutes. The only place where I can play back the slideshow in its entirety was on MyDVD (or whatever 7.5 comes with). Please help.

Of course Player support for VCD's is spotty and becoming more rare these days.

It should work as the other one you made did and as long as it fits on a CD it should be good to go!

If you have some RW media to play with, you might want to run it again. Play it completely through in DVD Builder Preview to make sure it is using the full length.

A hint about V7. It does not adapt well to using an old project as a base and substituting new clips.

Thanks for the tip.

Based on this theory, it worked better after I added a second slideshow to the same project. PowerDVD was able to play through both slideshows. However, it split the longer slideshow into two segments (chapters?). During playback it blacked out momentarily (like 4-5 seconds) when it transition from the first to the next. Also, it skipped the first image in both slideshows. On a set-top, it never played part 2.

Oh well, it wasn't perfect but it sorta did its job in front of an audience.

I think I'll try doing it in Videowave the next time.
