JHicks
Yes I am trying to find out what to do with the conflict I have installing my game Oblivion while my Roxio 7.0 is loaded. Seems that the feature in Roxio "drag-to-disc" makes the game dvd a writable media and it will not read or see any files on the disk. The only way to load the game was to uninstall roxio. I love roxio and want to keep using it but not sure if it will continue to conflict with my game? Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe AMD 5000+ X2 Corsair 2GB DDR2-800 EVGA 7900GS 256MB Ultra 600w PSU Does anyone have any solutions? Thanks!
JHicks
Not so sure it is D2D. Some games will not install if they find burning software! You can 'turn off' D2D by Start – Run – msconfig – Startup tab and clear the checkmark by Drag to Disc. Or you can even Uninstall D2D through Add/Remove Programs. If it won't install then, you need to contact the game maker and find out what they have to say. When I loaded Roxio I didn't see the option of turning off the D2D utility, its just been part of the program for as long as I remember. I did the msconfig thing and turned it off, but for some reason, windows still thought it was on. As I put the game DVD in the drives, it still would only read 1 file. Couldn't find any other option to turn off roxio so its not seen other than to uninstall it. Sucks, I don't want to uninstall it. So far the game rocks without Roxio loaded. grrrr! I wish I knew the secret to keep them both loaded. A game patch wouldn't help, since if windows can't read the game DVD, its the chicken and the egg issue. Thanks guys! jer
gi7omy
Drag to Disc is about as useful as an igloo in the Sahara so just go to add/remove programs and uninstall it However, you will probably find that the game will still not work - this is down to the game makers who set it up so that it will not install if it detects 'copying' software on the computer Also, you don't say what your OS is, but I have read of problems with Oblivion on Vista

gi7omy
I've a feeling James that issue cropped up several months ago and it was a known issue with the game that it refused to install if it detected ANY CD burning software. The fault is not with Roxio or even Nero or any other company but with the game makers
