Burning a DVD - driver combobox disabled

stp

Question

I am trying to burn a project on a DVD, using DVD Builder,

Once Burn is selected the Burn Setup Dialog Box is shown, the Burn to Disc is checked (but disabled) and the combobox to select the driver is empty and disabled too.

So, I cannot select the driver and I cannot burn... What can be the reason? I have burned many DVD in the past (I reinstalled everything a few weeks ago)

thanks

To add to what Walt said.....

If you've already made those slideshows in DVD Builder, you can take them into VideoWave by using the instructions in the pinned note at the top of this board http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=9277

Then you can put several VideoWave productions (slideshows) on one DVD Builder menu. Choose Add Title to put each one on the menu separately.

Hope that helps.

well, I had ie7 before reinstalling Roxio, then I had a problem and I removed ie7, getting back ie6....

What should I do? reinstall roxio 7.1 again?

thx

Rather than a reinstall, I'd suggest a Windows\Add Remove Programs\ Roxio\ Change\ REPAIR.

If that doesn't work, you might try this http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=4192

thanks,

I need the slides-transition capabilities of DVD Builder,.... I suppose Creator Classic doesn't have it,...How about upgrading to version 8 or 9???

I don't understand what you mean by "the slides-transition capabilities of DVD Builder"?

"Finalize disc" is always disabled when burning a DVD through DVD Builder since a video DVD is always finalized after a burn.

I am unclear exactly what kind of project you are creating. Are you trying to burn a video DVD or a data DVD?

well, you create a dvd (to be watched in a domestic DVD) containing a series of slides (pictures, photographies) that automatically are displayed for a number of seconds and then a nice transition-effect is produced before displaying the next one. Music can be also added.....

The goal was to put more than one of such "slide-shows" in a DVD

thx

You can put more than one slideshow on it, it's just that you must do it using one project. You add them as "movies" to a menu (or menus if there are a lot of them), then they are played by selecting each one, or you can even have an option to play them all. You cannot do one, burn it, do another, than add it to the disc, etc. Video dvd's do not work that way.

In addition to what Larry said, Videowave is a much better program to create/edit your slideshow, afterall that is what it was designed for. While DVD Builder can be used to do the same , it is mainly used for creating the menus and burning the DVD.

ok, this works now, but.... in the burn dialog box, I can't untick the "Finalize disk" (it's disabled), so a DVD-RW always get full at the first shot

how can I get that box enabled?

thx

I don't think you can if you're using DVD Builder. It has to finalize the disk for it to work in a DVD player.

You'll need to 'erase' the DVD to use it again in DVD Builder.

In a program like Creator Classic, you can choose to not finalize the disk and continue to add to the DVD, but the DVD won't be a video DVD. You'll be adding 'data/files' to the DVD.
