john1
I am an iMac G4 user )SX 10.4.9 Tiger, and when erasing a DVD-RW both fast erase and full erase, I am now getting the messages:- 1. SENSE KEY = MEDIUM ERROR SENSE CODW = 0x57 Unable to recover table of contents 2. Couldn't determine free space on disc 3. Error reading disc capacity I have had these messages on both Maxell and Sony DVD-RW discs? I can happily burn other DVD-R, and any CD-R disc. The internal Burner is a SONY DVD RW DW-U10A if that helps. I also have an Iomega external drive and it too gives the same codes. May well be damaged media, but if anyone has any clues I would be grateful. John
John at Roxio
Sounds like your drive just does not like that media. If you find a brand of media that works with your drive, stick with it.

Thanks John, I have been using Samsung DVD-R X8 and burning at X2 speed, I may stick to them now and maybe try the -RW version. Thanks anyway.
