EMC9 with IE7 & WMP11

zee

Question

I have EMC7 and I tried to burn a production to DVD but didn't have any luck. I have done this several times in the past, but not recently.

I read on EMC7 forum that there is a problem if you have IE7 and WMP11 installed.

I have been considering updating to EMC9 Deluxe. Does EMC9 Deluxe have the same problem if you have IE7 and WMP11 installed?

Some have said they've had problems with one or both but I have 1 system that has both with EMC9 with no problems. I don't use IE7 but do you WMP11 often though it sucks. Roxio has not stated that v9 is incompatible with IE7 or WMP11 but both those programs have been known to cause problems with a number of other programs besides EMC. I'd say, if you updated to IE7 & WMP11, don't. Use Firefox and VideoLan instead.

Technically there is no incompatibility, however those IE 7 and WMP11 seem to be a little unstable in general as they seem to cause problems with various applications and quite randomly (it will work for most people, just a couple will have problems). I agree that sticking with alternative apps is probably just a safer way to go.

I'd agree with John there - I fix computers over here and I've found that, in general, anyone who had updated to IE7 and/or WMP11 tends to have a flaky system.

You have to remember that both of those programs were developed for Vista and were back ported to XP - but they are causing all sorts of problems and not just with Roxio products
