DVD Write Speed

When burning DVD-R's, I only get 2 choices for burn speeds, 4x and auto. How can I get 1x or 2x choices? Can the default "fastest" be changed to a slower speed?

Mine is worse. When asked for a write speed all my choices are blank...which somehow causes the entire project, dvd music disc, to fail.

 

Any ideas?

Either the program dosen't see and communicate with the drives, or your using JUNK media. Put the media in the drive and open DVDInfo Pro look for Available Write Descriptor's like below. Does it show them?
